Clear data practices for a simple tipping app.
Drop a Tip collects only the information needed to create tip pages, process payments, protect the service, and support account holders.

Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect details like your name, email address, login credentials or provider identity, profile content, profile photo uploads, and your public tip page slug.
When tips are sent, we store payment metadata needed for receipts, disputes, refunds, dashboard history, and account reconciliation. Card details are handled by Stripe, not stored by Drop a Tip.
How we use information
We use account and profile information to operate your tip page, authenticate your account, display your dashboard, generate QR codes, and provide customer support.
We use payment, refund, and dispute records to process tips, calculate fees, prevent duplicate payments, respond to support requests, and maintain accurate business records.
Service providers
We use Stripe for payments and connected account onboarding, Cloudflare for hosting, storage, security, and Turnstile checks, and Google when you choose Google sign-in.
These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies. We share only what is needed for the service to work.
Public profile content
Your display name, job, bio, profile photo, and tip page slug may be visible to anyone who visits your public tip page.
Tipper names and messages may be shown in your dashboard. You should not enter sensitive information into public profile fields or optional tip messages.
Security and retention
We use reasonable technical measures to protect account data, including provider authentication, secure payment handling through Stripe, and bot prevention for sensitive public actions.
We keep information while your account is active and as needed for legal, security, tax, fraud prevention, payment, refund, and dispute purposes.
Your choices
You can edit profile information from your settings. You can also contact support if you need help with account access, deletion, or payment-related records.
Some records, especially payment, refund, dispute, security, and compliance records, may need to be retained even after an account is closed.
This policy is intended to be plain-English launch copy. Before public launch, have a qualified lawyer review it against the jurisdictions where you operate and where your users are located.
